JAMMU: The City Mayor of Jammu, Rajinder Sharma on Tuesday inaugurated developmental works at Lane number 4 in Ward number 64 (Durga Nagar).
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that Rs. 35 lakh works have been completed by the Councilors of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) so far.
“All the developmental activities in entire 75 Wards of JMC are at their peak with the developmental works be these of lanes or drains, culverts, street lights etc, are going on in full swing,” Rajinder Sharma, the helmsman of JMC maintained adding, “Apart from this, all the 75 Councillors of JMC have been told to make re-estimation of works still needed in their respective Wards and a single Councilor is empowered to submit estimates of even whooping Rs. 70 lakh as the government is giving all possible motivation for the developmental activities so that the public of Jammu may avail all the facilities to make their lives comfortable.”
The Mayor further said that the works of government in this regard are highly commendable while JMC at its end is more eager for the welfare of people and its Councillors are working day and night in their Wards to ensure the same.
“While a maximum of Rs. 10 lakhs were spent on a Ward in one year, now that era is over and presently even Rs 1.5 crore are being spent on works like street lights, high mast lights, blacktopping, tile works etc and this is a big revolution in itself which is the outcome of PM Modi’s slogan of government at grass-root level,” Rajinder Sharma continued agreeing that some exceptional cases might be there as after 2005 elections were held in the year 2018.
“I ensure that the leftover works shall be done within days and the present era is remarkable in itself,” he said.
Councilor of Ward number 64 Kapil Chib; District BJP President, Omi Khajuria; Ward President, Ajay Sharma, Surinder Chib, Kanhya Koul, Deep Sharma, Kuldeep Raina, Vikram Mahajan, Janak Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
