JAMMU: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu among 26 officers have been awarded with Sher-e-Kashmir Police Medals (SKPMs) . Four officers have been awarded meritorious services medal while 22 have been given gallantry medals on the eve of Republic day 2017.
The Sher-e-Kashmir Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to ADGP Armed L Mohanty, IGP Jammu Zone Danesh Rana, Dr Haseeb Mugal AIG (welfare/pers) PHQ, and Fayaz Ahmad Banday, Inspector PHQ.
The Sher-e-Kashmir Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to Sandeep SP South Srinagar, Shahid Amin Khosa SI, Mohammad Irfan Malik SI, Dar Niyaz Hameed Ct, Pawan Kumar Ct, Mir Murtaza Hussain Sohil Dy SP (PC) Bandipora, Tanveer Ahmad Bhat Ct, Mohammad Ishaq Dass Ct, Zahoor Ahmad Wani SI, Arfat Ahmad Rather SGCT, Mohammad Arshid Khan Ct, Mohammad Hafiz SI, Gowhar Ahmad Bhat SI, Danish Nazir Wani Const, Jatinder Singh Johar SSP Poonch, Mohan Lal Sharma Dy SP, Mohammad Saleem Bhat Dy SP, Sagra Singh Dy SP, Ajay Sharma Dy SP, Ashiq Hussain Inspector, Gulsheraz Ahmed SGCT and Mohammad Taj SGCT.
Director General of Police Dr. S. P Vaid congratulated the JKP personnel for gaining the prestigious medals.
He said the force is proud of its gallant and meritorious officers and Jawans, who by the dint of their valour and dedication in the field of public service have achieved the honour. He said the capabilities of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been recognised at national level and the force now figures at par with premier forces of the country.
Dr. Vaid has expressed hope that the awardees would continue their efforts in public service and garner more appreciations for the organisation and the nation as well. Other personnel would be inspired and encouraged by the honour, he added.
