JAMMU: Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu among others had been awarded with the prestigious award of Presidents Police Medal for Distinguished Service by Government of India on the eve of Independence Day-2022.
The officer was appointed as Sub Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police and worked in different capacities in Jammu District, as I/C PP Sarwal, Palanwalla, Addl. SHO Samba, I/C PP Talab Tillo and Sarwal respectively. The officer had also worked in the Kashmir Valley and after promotion to the rank of DySP, he remained posted as SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dy.SP Hqrs. Jammu, SDPO South Jammu, SDPO Border Chadwal Jammu. After promotion to the rank of SP, the officer remained posted as Addl. SP Rural Jammu, Addl. SP Udhampur, SP APCR Jammu and presently serving as SSP Traffic Rural Jammu w.e.f February, 2019.
The officer during his service career had solved a number of Public Sensational Heinous Crime related cases and arrested the criminals involved in commission of crime within shortest possible time, maintained law & Order effectively, besides arresting the land grabbers, history sheeters and other Bovine smugglers etc. He also supervised the effective deployments on different occasion especially during the visit of high profile dignitaries, Melas and other religious festivals in Jammu District for which he was appreciated by senior formations time to time.
On his posting as SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, the officer had supervised the traffic management system of 04 Districts e.g Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch effectively and ensured hassle free vehicular movement during different visits of VVIPs/VIPs & other Mela / festivals within the jurisdiction particularly SANJY-2019 & 2022 respectively. The Officer also organized a number of seminars, awareness programmes and convened meetings with the transporters/general public and other stake holders to aware them regarding traffic rules and regulations including new amendment in Motor Vehicle Act.
The COVID-2019 was a big challenge to the whole world among the India and the officer personally visited and established different shift wise camps in the jurisdiction particularly at Lakhanpur (the main entry gate of the J&K Union Territory). Adequate traffic arrangements were made at these camps/locations and ensured smooth and convenient passage of vehicles.
