JAMMU: It is for the first time that a number of welfare schemes have been launched in a short period of just six years by any government at the centre and like other parts of the country the poor people of Jammu and Kashmir too are availing their benefits. This has been done by BJP government under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jammu and Kashmir, BJP, Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, said this while questioning the Congress in particular to make public as to how many schemes for poor Indians were launched during their rule of over six decades after independence.
Balbir said that the Congress will fail to come out with even six schemes of six decades, while BJP has the pride of claiming to have given dozens in just six years.
Despite the opposition’s propaganda to the contrary none of the schemes launched by Modi government can be labelled as a community or region specific. All schemes justify the government’s slogan of Sabka saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, he said.
Sharing few such schemes from the long list, Balbir said that Ayushman Health Yojna is world’s biggest health care scheme, which is being availed by crores of people across the length and breadth of India under which they can have free treatment up to rupees five lakh from any empanelled hospital, Beti Bachao Beti Padao is a scheme aimed at making girls socially and financially self reliant through education. Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna provides financial assistance to poor for construction of Pakka houses. Toilets for public convenience are being constructed under Swachh Bharat Yojna.
Similarly, free gas connections have been given to the poor families under Ujwala Yojna, the poor people have the facility of opening free bank accounts in their names under Jan Dhan Yojna. Not only this, rupees 6000 in a year are being provided to the farmers under Kissan Samman Yojna. To reduce electricity consumption, low price LED bulbs are being made available for poor people. The pension of old aged people and widows have been enhanced from rupees 200 to 1000.
