Modi Govt making all efforts to restore peace in Valley: Jitendra

JAMMU: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that Modi Government is making all out efforts to restore peace and normalcy in Kashmir Valley.
Speaking to media at the sidelines of a function here, Dr Singh, on being asked about raids being conducted by the NIA team on the Hurriyat leaders, which has broken the backbone of terror funding, said that the people of Kashmir wanted normalcy to be restored as soon as possible. “The people of Kashmir want the government to make tough stance against the so-called protagonists of Kashmir, who tend to mislead the youth of Kashmir”, he said. He further said that the youth of Kashmir was keen to be part of the development journey led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The youths of Kashmir do not want to be deprived of the enormous avenues and opportunities, which have been made available to the youth in the rest of the country, hAe said.
Dr Singh said that it was the will of the people of Kashmir that normalcy be restored in Valley and the Modi Government had shown its intent very clear. The perpetrators of violence have to be brought to justice.
When asked about some people projecting villains as stake-holders of Kashmir, Dr Jitendra said that it was not only the Government but the society across the country had realised that the so-called intellectuals were fomenting trouble in Kashmir by misleading the youth.
On further being asked about raids being conducted on various people having political links, Dr Jitendra said that law will take its own course and whosever found guilty will not be spared.When asked about border firing by Pakistan on civilians, Dr Jitendra said that Pakistan was resorting to Human Rights violations in its own territory including Baluchistan, Gilgit and Baltistan. However, the Indian forces are carrying out befitting retaliatory action against Pakistan’s acts.
