Poonch: Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, who is on a two day visit to Anantnag Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency along with Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina, addressed a massive public rally, a beneficiary Sammelan, paid obeisance at Buddha Amarnath and inaugurated various projects in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

POONCH: Union Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, visited Budha Amarnath and discuss various developmental issues of the area. Deputy Commission Poonch, Yasin M.Choudhary; Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinay Sharma; CEO Tourism, Dr. Mohammad Tanveer; General Manager DIC, Dr.Zakir Hussain; Tehsildar Mandi, Shazad Latief Khan besides other concerned officers accompanied the minister during the visit. During the tour, the Minister paid obeisance at the Shri Budha Amarnath Mandir Mandi and took part in puja.
The management of holy mandir briefed the minister about the history of the temple, which has a rich and ancient heritage.
The Minister during the visit also interacted with the locals and listened to their grievances.
Meanwhile, the minister held a meeting with the officials and leaders to discuss various developmental issues in the region. The main focus of the meeting was on the development of tourism infrastructure and roads. He also discussed various measures to promote tourism in the area, which has a significant potential for growth. Later on, the minister also visited the mandi market to assess the situation and discuss ways to improve it. The officials accompanying the minister expressed their commitment to the development of the area and assured the public that all possible efforts will be made for the same.

He, while addressing a public rally in Poonch town being organized to commemorate the nine years of Narendra Modi’s government at the centre, said that the Union Minister and senior functionaries of the BJP have been undertaking visits to different parliamentary constituencies of the country to highlight the achievements of the Modi government under “Nau Saal Bemisaal” programmes. He said that Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister of India in 2014 and during the past nine years, he has written a new chapter in the history of India through its developmental projects and welfare schemes, which have brought progress and prosperity in the country. He said that Jammu and Kashmir too has availed the benefits of government schemes and landmark works are visible on the ground. The government’s schemes have brought revolutionary changes in the living status of the people.
The Union Minister said that various projects are in full swing for better road connectivity to Poonch and to other areas, which, on completion, will reduce travel time and provide relief to people. He said that the area has vast tourism potential, which needs to be explored and developed. He also made a specific mention to the recently found artifacts and assured to take up the matter with the Ministry of Culture.
Meghwal, in the beneficiary Sammelan in Thannamandi town of Poonch district, interacted with a large number of people who have been benefited by the welfare schemes and asked them to help others in their surroundings to get the benefits of the schemes.
During his visit to the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri, the minister also inaugurated the Songal tunnel in Rajouri and a bridge constructed under the CRF in Poonch. He said that work on development projects are undertaken on the warfoot, security grid has been strengthened and corruption has been plugged through DBT mode.
Ravinder Raina, Jammu and Kashmir BJP President while speaking in various programs in Rajouri and Poonch said that the visits of Union Minister to Parliamentary constituencies speak of the concern of the Modi government which aim at reaching the people at their door steps, make them aware of the government schemes and also get feedback about the same. He countered dozens of such schemes, which have been launched for various sections of the society with the sole motive of bringing upliftment in the lives of the people.
Vibodh Gupta, BJP General Secretary also addressed the public rally and beneficiary Sammelan where he spoke about various projects and schemes which have been extended to Rajouri and Poonch. He also expressed gratitude to the PM for taking keen interest for the betterment of Pahari speaking people and granting them ST status.
BJP Vice President Yudhvir Sethi, former MLC Pardeep Sharma, BJP Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi, Spokesperson Sunil Gupta, former Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli, former MP Choudhary Talib Husain, district Presidents Dinesh Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Qayum, Mohd. Rafiq Chishti, also accompanied the Union Minister.
