Modernization of J&K Police: 6-member panel constituted

JAMMU: The government on Thursday formed a six-member panel for deliberating upon the modernization plan of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
“Sanction is accorded to the constitution of Union Territory Level Empowered Committee for deliberating upon Modernization Plan of Jammu and Kashmir Police under the scheme Assistance to States/UTs and approving it for submission to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India,” reads an order issued by Dr Piyush Singla, Secretary, General Administration Department.
The committee will be headed by the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Home Department as its Chairman while Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters (PHQ) as Convener and Administrative Secretary Finance department, Director General of Police J&K, Special Director General of Police Crime Branch J&K and Administrative Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring Department as Members.
