Model Academy celebrates Mothers’ Day

JAMMU: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER in association with Shanti Gupta Centre for Woman Studies celebrated Mothers’ Day to pay tributes to all the mothers at its campus today.

Director MIER, Dr. Renu Gupta was the Chief Guest while Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director was the Guest of Honour.

Dr. Renu Gupta while addressing the staff and students applauded the role of mothers the world over.

She said that there is no relationship as pure as the relationship of a mother and child.

Mothers are the guiding force and are responsible for making us who we are. To mark the occasion a colourful programme was presented by the students of B.C. Road and Residency Road branch of the school along with Centre for Women Studies. The students presented poems, dance, group song and a short skit on the theme ‘I want my mother back’.

A special interactive session was also conducted by Jasleen Mohial, Academic Manager Junior Wing in which mothers of students of class 12th were invited to share their experiences about motherhood. The session witnessed outpouring of emotions by the mothers as well as the students.

In her message to the students, Rupa Gupta, Management Representative, said that mothers are the greatest gift of God. They look after the children more than anything in life and suffer in silence for the sake of their children so that they can become something in life.

The students also presented mementos that they had specially made for the dignitaries. Manju Vali, Convener Co-Curricular Committee along with Amarjot, coordinated the event. Anmol Jaswal and Sagrika, students of class 11th compered the programme. Apurva Gupta presented the welcome address and Purnima presented the vote of thanks. Other members present on the occasion were Manjari Sehgal, Academic Manager Senior Wing and Monika Rathore, Coordinator Centre for Women Studies.
