SAMBA: In order to check the operational preparedness of the manpower, mobility of troops, proper liaison and communication between different agencies and coordination on ground, a joint mock drill was conducted by District Police Samba and army at Nonath Ashram, Ghagwal along the National Highway on Thursday against any possible terrorist attack keeping in view the present security scenario.
In the said mock drill SOG Component of DPL Samba, Final Assault Group (FAG) Samba, manpower of Police Station Ghagwal and men of Army/Security Forces deployed in the area participated aimed at to keep the said force personnel well aware about their role during any militant strike. Use of Army helicopters was also the part of the said mock drill which started at 5:00 AM till 1:00 PM.
During the course of said mock drill all the preventive measures necessitated to be taken during any terrorist strike as well as the reaction time of the Police/Army/Security forces was observed. Proper briefing about their role and action in dealing with any terrorist attack was imparted to the manpower deployed for the purpose personally by Brigade Commander, 168-Infantry Brigade in presence of GOC 29 Division and SSP Samba. The other officers of Army/Police and civil authorities were also present during the said joint mock drill. However, all the sister agencies working in the area as well as general public of area were informed well in advance about the said mock drill to avoid any panic.
In addition to this similar joint mock drills by Army/Police were also conducted at Sarore Adda as well as near Rameshwar Temple Tarore in Sub-Division Bari Brahamana to ensure effective preparedness among the forces to deal with any terrorist strike with firm hands.
