Mobile Internet resumed in Jammu

JAMMU: After remaining suspended for over two weeks Mobile Internet Services (MIS) were finally restored in Jammu on late Monday evening.
The news was greeted instantly by the netizens by posting messages to each other and in some cases celebrating the start of services.
The worst affected were students and the business community as all their work was put on hold at a crucial time of completing the admission process and depositing fees using online payment modes.
According to official sources the MIS were  banned after law and order situation deteriorated in different parts of Kashmir valley in the wake of killing of HM terrorist Burhan Wani.
The local administration in Jammu had decided to suspend the MIS to check spread of rumours at a crucial juncture. By and large no untoward incident was reported during the period.
The decision to resume the mobile internet services was taken during the fresh review meeting and overall assessment of the security situation across the state during the two day long visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
