CHENANI: MLA, Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat on Monday conducted a tour of far-off areas of Chenani Constituency and convened public Durbar to redress the public grievances.
The MLA conducted the public Durbar at Latti, Sira, Dudu, Jakhate and Chapper areas of the constituency in which a large number of people and sectoral officers of line departments participated.
Hearing the peoples’ problems relating to timely water, power and ration supply and road connectivity, the MLA issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned for taking appropriate steps in redressing the same. He said the government functionaries should take prompt action in redressing the genuine problems of the people.
Referring to provision of corruption free, fair and accountable administration in the State, the MLA said that the present dispensation has initiated various steps in this regard and the result of these would be seen on ground soon. Responding to some of the developmental issues, Bhagat said that proposals of some developmental projects of public importance have already been submitted for approval, sanction and release of funds, adding that concerned functionaries of core sectors have also been directed for formulating Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of some projects under core sectors. The MLA also visited the residences of accident victims, who lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred last month at village Malothi near Latti, to express his condolence to their bereaved families. He said the issue relating to provision of compensation to the affected has already been taken up with the government and is being pursued vigorously. Bhagat said, the issue of widening and improvement of Chenani-Latti Road has been taken up with the Central Government, for which, it has agreed to take-up its work under Central Road Fund (CRF). Receiving complains about unhygienic conditions in a local Government Higher Secondary School, the MLA directed the concerned head of institution for carrying out cleanliness drive in the school premises. Announcing 100 desks for school use, he also directed the concerned head for preparing proposal for repair and renovation of school building, adding that the funds for the purpose would be provided out of his Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
