REASI: As a part of its ongoing services to the flash flood affected people in Reasi District, the activist of Manav Kalyan Jagriti Munch (MKJM) Katra, on Thursday provided 100 tents and ration to the affected people of several Panchayats.
Various teams under the supervision of chairperson of MKJM, Karnail Singh, on Thursday visited Panchayat Sarna, Kanji, Panasa, Soon Karyal, Chadi Muttal and others where the volunteers distributed relief to the victims.
Team of MKJM activists, comprising of Vikram Singh, Mahesh Murti, Amit Singh and others also assessed the losses due to heavy rain and flash flood in various areas of district Reasi. Twenty tents were distributed in each Panchyat Sarna, Kanji, Panasa, Soon Karyal, Chadi Muttal where people were homeless. A number of houses collapsed in recently happened hail storm and heavy rain. Meanwhile, dry ration was also distributed to flood affected people.
The activists also rued over inaction of administration to tackle the situation prevailing in far-flung areas. President of Munch, Karnail Singh appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as well as Prime Minister to also focus far-flung areas, which still are un-touched in case of relief-rescue operation being run in State.
He said that instead of taking care of affected people, State Government is busy to earn sympathy of people. “We are serving our people as best as we can, and our service will remain continue till the situation comes under control”, Singh said, adding that they have sympathy with flash-flood affected people of Kashmir too. The affected people are looking very eagerly towards Omar Shahib and its time to meet the expectation and save their lives”, he added.
