KATRA: The activists of Manav Kalyan Jagriti Manch (MKJM) Katra, who have been actively participating in post flash-flood rescue operation, affected areas of district Reasi have expressed their anguish over delay in relief work for victims by the State Government.
A large number of activists of MKJM under supervision of its President Karnail Singh are playing a vital role in rescue operation in various far-flung villages of District Reasi.
As per report pouring-in, four villages where the activists are in action, government machinery has not launched relief work as yet. Karnail Singh along with his team is camping in village Dera Babber in block Reasi, where number of bodies are lying under derbis of collapsed houses.
Two girls of Abdul Rehman died due to house collapse in village Dera Babber, while bodies of daughter in-law and grand-daughter of Abdul Aziz of the same village are also lying under debris.
The activists of the Manch are on job to remove the debris. However, four persons who were injured were airlifted to GMC Jammu for treatment. President of Manch, Karnail Singh held a meeting with SDM and Tehsildar Reasi and demanded relief for victims. He also assured the administration, that Manch is also providing relief on its own.
Another team of Manch headed by Prakash Singh camping in Sadal village in Panchairi Block where cloud-burst has affected 104 families and killed 38 people, the team is providing all possible support for the victims.
Similarly, another team of Manch, which is working in village Ladda under super vision of Sanjay Kumar Inqalabi took stock of the damage caused by cloud burst. In the said village live-stock, animals have been washed away and relief from administration is yet awaited.
