Prostitution racket unearthed in Qasim Nagar

JAMMU: A minor girl was kept captive in Bagh-e-Bahu area for more than a month and was raped many times in Qasim Nagar area. Police has rescued the minor, arrested three accused including 2 women and a case under POCSO Act, detention and assault has been registered against accused.
According to information, a complaint was lodged with Bagh-e-Bahu police by family of a minor girl, resident of Katra that their daughter has been abducted and kept hostage by a woman in her house in Qasim Nagar area. Acting on information, police raided the house and rescued the girl besides carrying out her medical examination.
During investigation, minor girl informed police that she was brought from Katra in a car and kept in a house in Qasim Nagar area. She told that she was raped several times in that house. She further told that she was kept in house for over a month.
On basis of these statements, police immediately registered a case under POCSO Act and arrested Swarna Devi, owner of house; Shankar Singh and Pooja Devi. Police is further investigating the matter. So far, it has came to fore that accused women used to engage minor girls for prostitution. Police is investigating the matter.
