BHADARWAH: A minor girl who gone to collect Morccella (Guchchi) from forest died after she reportedly fell into a deep gorge in Malsoo Forest area in Tehsil Bhadarwah of District Doda.
As per police sources, Pushpa Devi (13) daughter of Girdhari Lal resident of village Malsoo (4 Km from town) in Bhaderwah along with a group of women from the village had gone to collect Guchchi from the forest, but didn’t return in the evening, prompting family and villagers to start her search.
“Last evening, villagers spotted the body of the girl in the gorge near Malsoo forest. A police party from Police Station Bhadarwah rushed to the spot and retrieved the body and brought it to Sub District Hospital Bhadarwah for postmortem,” said SDPO Bhadarwah Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan.
“Initial reports suggested that the girl perhaps slipped into the gorge due to slippery hill, after rain, however we have started investigation under 174 CRPC,” officer added.
