Minister of Textiles inaugurates India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025, Frankfurt, Germany

NEW DELHI: The Heimtextil 2025 got underway at Frankfurt, Germany and will conclude on January 17, 2025. The India Pavilion was inaugurated by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, Govt. of India in the presence of B. S. Mubarak, IFS, Consul General, Consulate General of India, Frankfurt; Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Mentor in a role of Director General, EPCH & Chairman, IEML; Senior Officials from Textiles EPCs, Messe Frankfurt and participating member exporters were present, informed R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.

K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH and participating member exporters during Heimtextil 2025,Frankfurt, Germany.

Giriraj Singh, while inaugurating, shared that India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025 celebrates excellence and innovation in the textile industry.
“India’s presence here is not just a testament to our rich heritage but also a reflection of our dynamic journey toward becoming a global leader in sustainable and cutting-edge textile solutions,” he said.
He further invited global buyers at India Pavilion to explore the diversity and innovation that India offers. Minister of Textiles also interacted with member participants and assured all support in future business promotions.
Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH, shared that India’s participation will enhance the fair vibrancy and cultural diversity of the exhibition.
He stated that Heimtextil offers a valuable opportunity for international manufacturers, retailers and brands to explore India’s strong capabilities in textiles, home furnishings and consumer products. He highlighted India’s well-established ecosystem, which blends traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques, offering a competitive advantage in global markets.
Baid also emphasized the importance of such events in fostering international collaborations, expanding market reach and reinforcing India’s position as a preferred sourcing hub.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Mentor in a role of Director General, EPCH & Chairman, IEML shared that Heimtextil is one of world’s premier events for interior textiles, home furnishings, and household fabrics.
He remarked that the trade show serves as a hub for unveiling cutting-edge designs, eco-friendly products and the latest trends, drawing significant interest from buyers, designers, and industry professionals worldwide.
This event provides a vital platform for India to showcase its “Incredible Textiles of India,” representing the country’s unparalleled diversity, rich cultural heritage and longstanding traditions of arts and crafts.
R.K Verma said that India’s growing presence at Heimtextil reflects the steady progress made by Indian exporters in aligning with global standards and consumer preferences.
He stressed that the industry’s increasing focus on sustainability and the use of natural and organic fibers further strengthens India’s appeal in the global market.
He further added that EPCH has coordinated the participation of 18 member exporters from various parts of the country, displaying their collections in Hall 5.0, Hall 6.2, and Hall 9.1. Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal organization for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture, and fashion jewellery & accessories in craft clusters of the country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2023-24 was Rs. 32,759 Crores (US $ 3,956 Million), with exports to Germany was Rs. 1,530.14 crore (USD 184.88 million), informed R. K.
