Noting that he spent nine years of his life in Hyderabad, Singh, who was the brand ambassador for the event, recalled the fond memories of his association with the city where he began his career as a runner.
“I have spent nine years of my life in Hyderabad. My sports career began here. I am happy to come here. Spread love. Be fit. I wish you and the organisers all the best,” Singh said.
The former Indian track and field sprinter said he was getting more attention and respect after Bollywood film ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’ (starring Farhan Akhtar) made on his life was released.
The event, in its 12th edition this year, was attended by over 15,000 people, the organisers said.
Police and the city administration made elaborate arrangements for the run on Necklace Road around the Hussain Sagar lake.
