Terror hideout busted USA made radio set, antennas, AK rifles recovered

KISHTWAR: A USA made radio set, two Thailand made printers, one Bipole antenna and two AK assault rifles besides a huge consignment of arms and ammunition have been recovered when security forces on Sunday busted a terror hideout in Kishtwar district.
“A joint team of Delta Force and Police busted a major militant hideout at Chandali Forest in Kishtwar District and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition,” Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
Weapons recovered from the hideout include one AK 56 rifle, one AK 47 rifle, two 9 MM pistols, two UBGL, six AK Magazine, 315 rounds of AK, seven UBGL Grenades, nine hand grenades, two magazine of 9 mm pistol, 12 rounds of 9 MM, one radio set (US made) two batteries (US made) two printers (Thailand made) and one Bipole Antenna (US made), Lt Col Manish said.
On a tip off about the hideout of Mohd Amin alias Jehangir, a known surviving militant of the Chenab Valley, the security forces conducted the operation, he said, adding that Chandali forest has been the stronghold of Hizbul Mujahiddin militant outfit.
He said the seizure indeed had the potential to cause large scale casualties and damage to life and property.
“The recovery thus is a major blow to the terrorist outfit and once again displayed total domination by security forces in the hinterland of Kishtwar” Lt Col Manish said.
The General Officer Commanding, Delta Force complimented the troops who took part in the operation and commented that the recovery of this cache is in continuation of the sustained efforts by Delta Force towards dismantling of terrorists infrastructure and support base of the remnant terrorists in the Chenab Valley.
