Dear Editor,
Karun Nair, the 25-year-old Karnataka batsman, in just his third Test innings, stroked his way to a triple hundred. He exhibited skill, grace and common sense and played full range of strokes to become the second Indian batsman after Virender Sehwag to hit a triple hundred.
Nair has achieved a milestone that eluded Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. Incidentally, he has also become the quickest batsman in the world to hit a triple hundred in the third innings of his career. Len Hutton took nine innings while Don Bradman and John Edrich took 13 innings each to hit their first triple hundred.
