Mercedes-Benz India launches GLE 400 Petrol at Rs.74.90 lakhs

Mercedes-Benz, India’s largest luxury car maker has launched a petrol variant of its GLE SUV for the first time in the country at Rs.74.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Christened as GLE 400 4MATIC, the new petrol-powered GLE SUV was introduced by Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and will be available across Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

GLE 400 4MATIC comes equipped with a powerful 2996cc V6 petrol engine which delivers peak power and torque output figures of 333hp @ 5250-6000rpm and 480Nm @ 1600-4000rpm respectively. Transmission is offered via 7G-TRONIC PLUS gearbox. Fuel tank capacity is 93 litres and the claimed top speed of the car is 247kmph.

For the first time, we are introducing the GLE with a petrol mill and this underscores our strategy of offering the right product for our growing customer base. This is the fourth SUV we have introduced this year and with this variant, we now offer our bestselling SUV in 4 different options, GLE 250 d, GLE 350 d, GLE 400 and the dynamic GLE 450 AMG Coupe.”

The SUV segment has been the fastest growing for Mercedes-Benz India for the past two years and underlines the growing penchant of SUVs amongst customers. The GLE has been an outright bestselling SUV for Mercedes-Benz in India and has created new benchmarks in the segment.
