Mehta victimised for his stand against ‘corrupt’ in JKCA

JAMMU: Led by the Cabinet Minister, Imran Raza Ansari, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has victimised the duly elected Joint Secretary of Jammu Wing, Sudershan Mehta for his bold stand against the corrupt elements in the State cricket body.
Mehta, who raised the
voice against ‘corrupt practices’ during his troublesome year-long tenure in the JKCA, has been victimised by way of his unceremonious exist during recently held working committee meeting.
Mehta remained in touch with his superiors, including General Secretary, Iqbal Ahmed Shah informing latter about the financial irregularities committed by other office bearers but, unfortunately, his voice remained unheard. Funds worth lakhs have been swindled through fake accounts.
Not only officials at wing level, those members of the Finance Committee of the JKCA were hand in glove with the corrupt elements.
On being contacted, Mehta, who was reluctant to speak initially, told that he stood by the facts and fought for the cause of cricket. “I have played first class cricket for 14 years. My sole aim of taking over the responsibility of Joint Secretary was to work for Jammu cricket, but I was not allowed to do so by those saboteurs,” added Mehta.
An officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent, Mehta is ready to cooperative with the investigations in case a probe is initiated into the alleged misappropriation of funds in JKCA Jammu Wing.
