Mehbooba usher new era of development, peace: NMC

Jammu: Extending full support to the popular government in the State, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has said that installation of people government in a democratic set up is always a welcome development.
Addressing a NMC workers meet here on Sunday, Shastri hoped that under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti as head of the government, a new era of development and peace will again usher in the State, as she has emphatically cleared that the aspirations of the people of all three region of the State will be respected with equitable development.
Shastri said that Mehbooba Mufti is a mature and seasoned leader as she has been groomed and worked closely with her father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
He pinned more hopes as Mehbooba Mufti who is pro-poor and pro- working class and is well versed with the grass root issues.
While appreciating the exceptional administrative skills of the Governor, N.N Vohra, he said that he has run the affairs of the State in an outstanding manner during brief three months spell of Governor Rule in the State.
Shastri was immensely hope full that regularization issue of sixty one thousand daily rated workers, which is hanging in fire the last twenty one years and as which much spade work has already been done by provisions PDP-BJP Government, will be addressed on top priority and all daily rated workers are regularised in one go. He further requested the new government to release two pending installments of DA to its employees as first charge as the Central Government has already released the same. He stressed upon the new government to be formed on the instant to stood working on requisite modality so that once the Seventh Pay Commission is implemented by central Government the same is also implemented for the state employees without wasting much time.
Shastri while welcoming the announcement the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley for additional funds in the economic package already announcement for the state, urged upon the Prime Minister to fund the State liberally for its development and fitting will in the development vision of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
“Several resolutions were adopted in the meet including release of all pending dues of daily rated workers”. ‘Besides, sanctioning twelve per cent DA due from July last and January this year in favor of the employees and pensioners and enhancing medical allowances to Rs.1,000 per month and increasing wages of daily rated workers to rupees ten thousand per month were also included in the resolution’.
Among others who were present in the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Sunil Kochhar, Darshan Bawa, Surinder Kumar, Bopinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Swaran Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Sukhdev Singh, Paramjit (Com Barkat Ram), Tarseem and Sudesh Bhagat.
