Mehbooba asks students to take extra-curricular activities as seriously as studies

JAMMU: A group of 40 students from the border districts of Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua and Jammu, who had been on a tour of various cities of the country, called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here on Saturday.
During their tour the students visited the IT city of Bangalore, Mysore, Delhi and Kolkatta. They also visited the historic Taj Mahal at Agra and Fatehpur Sikri.
Students shared their experiences during the visit with the Chief Minister and also put up certain demands.
They also demanded availability of subject teachers, more infrastructure at schools like computers, buildings etc. and added civic facilities like improved roads, more toilets and power in their villages.
The Chief Minister enquired from the students about smart classes started by the government and also the status of physical activities at their schools. She asked them to take physical and extracurricular activities as seriously as studies and informed them of many young boys and girls from the State who have done well in sports at national and international levels.
