Medical camp held under ESI Scheme

SRINAGAR: To provide succour to beneficiaries of Employees State Insurance ESI Scheme, first ever Health Check-up camp was organised here at AEGIS Complex Rangreth on Monday.

A team of doctors and paramedical staff from ESI Dispensaries Rangreth and Khanmoh and ESIC Hospital, Jammu including Dr. Om Prakash, State Medical Commissioner, ESIC, Jammu and Kashmir and Dr. Rehana Kausar, Administrative Medical Officer, ESI Scheme, J and K supervised the medical camp. Over 160 employees of institution were examined in the health camp. Medicines were also provided to needy. Kais, Imad and Zubaida, HR personnel from AEGIS provided all logistics and coordinated the programme. Some cases of surgery, hyper tension, eye defects and burn contracture were identified for further treatment and follow up action during the check-up exercise. These people will be provided with cashless medical / surgical treatment through ESIC Model Hospital, Jammu or through any of the specialty tie-up hospitals.

Later, the issues relating to ESI Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir were discussed with Labour Secretary Shahid Anayatullah. He advised the team of ESIC Officers led by Arvind Kumar, Regional Director, which called on him in the Civil Secretariat, to hold more of such camps in hazardous units such as cement and chemical industries, and flour mills.
