Medha, Avantika, Sana made it to NZ crowning ceremony on April 16

JAMMU: Medha Arora from Heritage School and Institute of Dental Science, Avantika Choudhary of Army School and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and Sana Dua from SD Public School and Department of Law, Punjab University, all hailing from Jammu, on Sunday made it to north zonal crowning ceremony at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel scheduled on 16th April 2017 by fetching golden tickets during the auditions of fbbColorsFemina Miss India-2017 held here at Fortune Inn Riviera, Jammu.
The auditions received an overwhelming response witnessing more than 80 contestants participating from all parts of the State. The encouraging response assured a wide coverage of the State, in terms of ‘talent scouting’.
The event was adjudged by Viren Barman, Peter England Mr. India 2016 1st Runner up.
With a new and improvised format this year, Miss India in its 54th edition will be touring to all 30 States of the nation and to crown 30 State representatives who will then compete for the coveted Miss India crown. The most deserving candidates from each of the eight north zone States viz Miss India Delhi, Miss India Haryana, Miss India Himachal Pradesh, Miss India Jammu and Kashmir, Miss India Madhya Pradesh, Miss India Punjab, Miss India Uttar Pradesh and Miss India Uttarakhand will represent their States at the grand finale which is going to be held in Mumbai in June.
For the very first time, the pageant will host mentors for each zone who will guide the contestants to merit. To take charge of the proceeding for the North Zone, the responsibility is given to film actress Neha Dhupia.
Speaking at today’s event, she said that girls who are chosen are beautiful and talented. “I feel their inherent simplicity is their strength. I expect this strength to come forth and help them forge their path in the pageant”, she added. The beauty pageant announces its strategic partnership for the fifth year in a row with India’s leading Entertainment Channel, Colors with a view to gain maximum visibility in their quest to find the women of substance. Jio has been opted as Digital Content partner. The state finalists at the finale of fbbColorsFemina Miss India North 2017 can be seen live on Jio TV on 16th April, 2017. The finalists of fbbColorsFemina Miss India 2017 will undergo vigorous training from the best experts of the industry before the Grand Finale to be held in June.
