MDP organised by The Business School for IOCL dealers concludes

JAMMU: Two-day Management Development Programme organised by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) in collaboration with The Business School University of Jammu concluded here on Tuesday.
The two-day programme was organized by IOCL for its dealers from Kashmir province under project DISHA with an aimed to develop management competencies among dealers with the objective of improving better management skills and exposing them to a wide array of proficiencies that can be achieved through the adoption of specific techniques.
The workshop was divided into seven sessions spread over two days and was attended by twenty IOCL dealers from different parts of Kashmir province.
During the second day of the MDP, a total of three sessions were conducted on contemporary topics. The first session was conducted by Prof Vinay Chauhan, The Business School University of Jammu, who spoke on topic Brand Management. He emphasized the need to understand the nature of IOCL dealers’ brand and ways to manage their brand.
The second session was delivered by Ajay Khajuria, Marketing Head, Airtel, who spoke on ‘Best Sales Practices’. Through his presentation, he discussed the characteristics of segmentation, potential buyer and buyer group for the IOCL products and services and helped them in understanding and handling the typical purchasing process of customers.
The last session was on ‘Customer Orientation and CRM activities’ by Prof. Alka Sharma, The Business School University of Jammu. She discussed the technological, people and business strategy components of CRM. During her discussion she emphasized the need to understand the various implementation issues of CRM.
During the valedictory session, Hari Anupam, Senior Divisional Retail Sales Manager cum State Level Coordinator J and K appreciated the efforts extended by The Business School in organizing the MDP and for acquainting the IOCL dealers regarding changing business scenario in the industry and the imminent need to change the system of doing business.
Prof. B.C Sharma Director, The Business School and Coordinator ‘DISHA’ project welcomed the participants and thanked the IOCL for partnering with The Business School for the programme.

Dr. Komal Nagar Assistant Professor, The Business School who was also the overall co-coordinator for the MDP conducted the proceedings of the valedictory function.
