JAMMU: The MBS Club Simbal Camp won the inaugural match of the Fourth Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Memorial Hockey Tournament being held under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at KK Hakku Stadium, here on Monday. The young side of MBS defeated BSF Kashmir 3-1. Shivam Sharma (13th), Jaskaran Deep Singh (29th) and Ramandeep Singh (60th) were the scorers for winning side. For BSF Kashmir, Senapati reduced the margin by converting a penalty corner in the 49th minute. Earlier, the event was declared open by NRI, Joginder Singh Bali (Hong Kong), who was Chief Guest. Another NRI, Updesh Kour Bali was Guest of Honour. Others present were Swaran Singh (ARTO), Kulwant Singh, Ravinder Singh (SRTC), Rajinder Singh Raja, Janak Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Balwinder Singh and General Secretary of Hockey J and K, G.S Bakshi. The tournament is being conducted under the overall supervision of Chairman, SPDC Trust Guru Nanak Nagar, Sant Tejwant Singh.
Today’s inaugural match was officiated by the technical panel comprising Satvir Singh (Tournament Director), Iqbal Singh (Umpire), Karanjeet Singh (Umpire), Joginder Singh (Judge) and Jagjeet Singh.
FIXTURE: Young Star Simbal Camp shall take on BSF Jammu at 12:00 Noon; Hiranagar Club to meet Dashmesh Club Nanak Nagar at 1:30 PM; Lachipura Kathua shall play against Khalsa
Club Gole Gujral at 2:30 PM tomorrow.
