Mayor meets Principals of Colleges, will launch app for anti-Corruption campaign

JAMMU: The Mayor of Jammu city, Rajinder Sharma is going to launch an app on which general public may mark registration for ‘Shandaar Jammu, Imandaar Jammu’, the ongoing anti-corruption campaign being going on in Jammu under the leadership of Rajinder Sharma.
In this regard the Mayor today met Principals of all the prominent Colleges of Jammu like Dr. Sanjay Karlupia, Prof MAM College; Dr. Mohd Majeed, Prof Women College Parade; Dr. Meenu Abrol, Principal Govt Degree College Bhagwati Nagar; Prof. Ravinder Tikoo, Principal GDC Kunjwani; Prof Surinder Kumar, Principal Govt SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu and Prof. Rajesh Gupta, Principal GGM Science College Jammu.
Principals of these Colleges informed the Mayor that his anti-corruption campaign is gaining success as the students of these Colleges have already made their minds to vote for such a candidate who will not spent money during campaign and who will be perfectly educated having sound knowhow about administrative matters. The Mayor said that political reorientation will soon be accomplished in the country and he was trying his level best that such a change begins from Jammu and that is why the campaign to eradicate corruption has been started by him.
“Motivational documentaries shall be shown in colleges highlighting works done for national interest and for the welfare of the society,” Mayor maintained while interacting with Principals of prominent colleges of Jammu.
He said that the students shall be asked to download commitment certificates making the commitment to eradicate corruption from the country.
Sharma further said that during the last Sunday of every month there shall be a walkathon from Panjtirthi to Maharaja Hari Singh Park to aware the people about three pledges—eradicating of political corruption, avoiding caste candidates while voting for a public representative and voting for an educated candidate having sound knowledge of administrative matters.
He said that he needs public support to make Jammu a starting point for revolution against the corruption and a change for the good.
Principals of the Colleges informed that the Mayor has done historic job by getting passed a resolution in General House of JMC that to contest elections for public representatives one should be a graduate.
They assured full support to the Mayor in the noble work.
