Mayor lays foundation for developmental works worth Rs.10 crore

Distributes certificates to those who imparted Yoga training

JAMMU: Continuing the developmental spree the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) under the active and revolutionary leadership of Mayor Rajinder Sharma, also General Secretary All India Mayors Council, on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a Library and Gymnasium Hall at Ambedkar Community Hall of JMC in Resham Ghar Colony in Ward number 13.
He also laid stone for Parking Place in the area and the completion of these projects will incur an estimated expenditure of Rs. 10 crore.
In this project four halls and parking place on modern lines shall be constructed to accommodate about 34 vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor Jammu said that with every passing day JMC is dedicating new developmental works to the public.
“To further safeguard and properly manage these works a committee should be formed including locals of the respective areas so that these assets may be used carefully,” he said adding that earlier there was only one parking facility in the city but now public facilities are being increased and soon this fourth parking place shall be ready as the public is also increasing in number. Meanwhile, preparing for International Yoga Day to be celebrated on June 1, the Mayor distributed certificates among the persons who imparted Yoga training at Peer Kho. About 150 persons were trained in Yoga there.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Mohit Sharma, Social Activist (Jammu East Constituency) Program Organizer; Dr. Hamani Bhutyal, Medical Officer AYUSH (Camp Incharge); Dr. Chetan (Medical Officer); Dr. Sunil Kaul (Medical Officer); Jagandeep Singh (Yoga Instructor); Jyoti Bali (Yoga Instructor); Sheetal Khajuria (Yoga Instructor); Ishan (Yoga Instructor); Ankita (Yoga Instructor) and Romesh Naru (Pharmacist).
