KISHTWAR: Kishtwar based Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Delta Force conducted the last rites of Martyr Sapper Kishori Lal Rathore of 175 Engineer Regiment (TA Bn), on Monday. The martyr was given a final farewell with full military honours in presence of hundreds of people who converged to pay their tributes to the braveheart at Dharbshala. Martyr Sapper Kishori Lal Rathore laid down his life on saturday while carrying out the resuscitation of the anti infiltration obstacle system in Macchal Sector. He is survived by his aged parents and four sisters. The slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ rent the air as the body of Martyr Sapper Kishori Lal Rathore reached his native place. The mortal remains of the soldier were brought from Srinagar to Kishtwar by a Army Helicopter yesterday and were then transported by road to his native village Dhar. A huge gathering of soldiers, family and friends were present during the cremation. Wreaths ware laid on behalf of Chief of Army Staff, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command , General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps and General Officer Commanding, Delta Force.
The cremation was attended by Commander Rashtriya Rifles Kishtwar and from the civil administration present where Sandeep Wazir SSP Kishtwar, Dewan Chand District Sports Officer, Yograj SHO Drabshala and Jagadeshwar Tehsildhar Drabshala along with Panchs and Sarpanchs of nearby villages.
