KATRA: The local administration Katra on Thursday charged over rupees twelve thousand as fine from seventeen business establishments found violating certain market regulation laws.
A team of officers conducted surprise checking of Katra market and inspected the hygienic conditions, charging of rates and other set norms. The team also seized and charged penalties from the shopkeepers found using banned polythene material.
The team of officials comprising Tehsildar, SDPO, TSO challaned seventeen shops and a fine of Rs 12,200 was recovered on the spot from the owners.
The officials warned the shopkeepers against the usage of polythene bags or to face action in the upcoming days.
The team also issued strict instructions for maintaining cleanliness and hygienic conditions in and around restaurants and hotels.
The team also asked the shopkeepers to display the rate list prominently at their establishments and avoid use of domestic LPG gas cylinders for commercial purpose.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Reasi has directed all the teams constituted for Katra, Reasi and Mahore to carry out frequent inspections and checking to curb overcharging, black-marketing, use of polythene and sale of adulterated and substandard food items.
