Marh C-BYTE wins overall athletic championship trophy

JAMMU: District administration Jammu in collaboration with BSF Frontier Headquarter, Paloura Jammu on Sunday organised an athletic meet for the trainees of various Centres for Border Youth Training and Empowerment (C-BYTE).
IGP Jammu, Dr S.D Singh Jamwal was Chief Guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh presided over the function.
Trainees from various C-BYTE participated in nine physical events including 3,000, 1,600, 800, 400, 200, 100, Relay 100X4, Relay 400X4 meter runs and long jump. IGP Jammu lauded the efforts of district administration for such a unique initiative to train border youth. He said that such centres besides training students for armed forces also save them from various social menace like drugs.
The Chief Guest felicitated 15 trainees of C-BYTE who have recently made into various para-military forces.
He also distributed prizes among the winners of various athletic as well as academic events. Balwinder Singh from Marh Centre was declared best athlete. The overall athletic championship trophy was won by Marh Centre while there was a tie between Khour and Suchetgarh centres for the academic trophy.
A total number of 70 trainees trained from these C-BYTE have been selected in armed forces so far.
BDO Marh, Ranjeet Singh Tara, CDPO R S Pura Jasmeet Singh and Nodal Facilitator, Surinder Kumar were present on the occasion.
