JAMMU: Laying of the e-foundation of Rs. 198.37 crore Centrally funded Mansar Lake Rejuvenation Project by Union MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh and Jammu Kashmir UT Lieutenant Governar, Manoj Sinha, will prove to be a multipurpose gift to Jammu on its completion.
This was stated by Jammu Kashmir BJP Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while terming this prestigious project as another gift to Jammu by the union government under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also reflective of the concern of Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh towards development of the neglected region of Jammu for almost seven decades by the governments at the Centre and in the State, whose only priority in all mattes and at all levels had always been Kashmir.
Balbir said that earlier the Centre had taken into hand Devika Rejuvenation Project on the model of prestigious Namani Ganga Project and work on it is being undertaken at a fast pace. “within six years, Narendra Modi government has now given second prestigious project of Mansar Rejuvenation Project, which will prove to be multipurpose Project,” Balbir said and added that on completion, it will promote tourism, boost conservation of water bodies and generate employment for the people.
Balbir said that it is not only development of water bodies but sitting MP Dr. Jitendra Singh is working vigorously to get more and more projects of development sanctioned for Jammu region, particularly for his Constituency, wherein numerous mega projects of road connectivity, healthcare, sports, tourism etc have already been completed or near completion and there is no doubt that whatever has been given to Jammu during the last six years is record in itself.
