Manmohan seeks one-time grant for DPs

SAMBA: Ch. Manmohan Singh, Vice Chairman of State Medical Supply Corp and All India Jat Mahasabha-J and K President lead a deputation of 1965 and 1971 Displaced Persons (DPs) of District Samba to Dy Commissioner Samba in connection with one time grant sanctioned by the Central Government.
He apprised the Dy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda about the various problems faced by the DPs in completion of necessary papers required for receiving the part of Rs. 5,50,000. He requested that DPs are getting this relief after so many years of persuasions and must be given a patient touch in completing the papers. He requested the DY Commissioner to sent the revenue staff in hamlets to complete the necessary papers to minimise the troubles which the Dy Commissioner readily accepted.
He also informed the DC that many senior citizens amongst the refugees do not have State subjects and many others don’t have ration cards for which DC assured the deputation that a camp will be organised near August 15 at Tehsil office Ramgarh where all the concerned authorities will be present and people are advised to get all the necessary documents such as their PRCs and they will be issued state subjects immediately and without any hassle.
Dy Commissioner heard the problems patiently and assured every possible step will be taken for the smooth disbursal of the grant. Ch. Manmohan Singh appreciated the positive approach of the DC Samba on the assurance that a public friendly initiative will be taken to help the DPs in getting the relief by easiest way without sufferings.
