VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh on Monday visited Keso village and appealed to Central Government to order army to handle situation on International Border which has turned violent due to unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers.
“Pakistan has continued unprovoked violations on IB in which innocent people have lost their lives while BSF troops have also been martyred in the heavy shelling,” Singh said in a statement here.
The former Congress minister said the people have been forced to flee from their villages along the border. “This has become a routine for the border people and the government should take a final decision on the continued violations,” Manjit Singh said.
He sought attention of the Modi government while demanding military action against Pakistan to silence guns.
“They have turned their guns towards the civilian areas and killed innocent and Indian Government should not sit silently. They should order its army to take over positions from BSF and do whatever is needed to silence Pakistan’s guns,” Manjit Singh demanded.
He said that the poor farmers have lost their houses, peace and studies of their children have also suffered badly.
“Time has come to take a final call and end crises over the border,” he said, adding that Pak wants to infiltrate militants into this side to create disturbance with the help of heavy firing from Pak Rangers.
