Manjit demands immediate relief to flood victims

VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh on Friday appealed to the government to provide immediate relief and compensation to the flood affected people in Ramgarh and other adjoining villages.
Singh, who visited the rainfall and flood affected areas of Vijaypur, said that the people were living in a miserable condition as many of them have suffered damage of their houses partially or completely. However, the administration has failed to provide them compensation or relief leaving them at the mercy of Almighty.
The senior Congress leader said that the homeless people should be provided tents and ration as they have been facing hardships, while they have also not been provided fodder for their cattles.
“The fields have been silted with sand following flash flood and the government should also organise medical camps for the affected people,” he said, while alleging that nearly ten days have passed to the heavy rains yet no concrete step has been taken by the administration
