RAMBAN: Police on Thursday arrested a smuggler and recovered 12 Kg 500 Gms banned rare medicinal herb (Nag Chatri) from his possession at Banihal.
According to a report, a police party of Police Station Banihal, during surprise checking at Railway Crossing Chowk, stopped one pedestrian namely Abdul Rashid son of Ahmed Bhat resident of Buzla Khari, who was moving in a suspicious manner and tried to escape from the Naka. During checking of his belongings, 12 Kg 500 Gms Nag Chattri was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and a case under relevant section of law was registered against him. Arrest was made by police party led by Inspr Nazeer Ahmed Dar, SHO Police Station Banihal.
