Addressing an election rally here under Alipurduar district on the fourth day of her poll campaign in north Bengal, Banerjee said that the Opposition had resorted to this tactics (smear campaign) after failing to counter her politically.
She branded the alliance of the CPI-M and the Congress as an “unholy nexus”, saying she had the support of people.
“Those who took the state back by decades are spreading hate, falsehood and negativity now,” she said.
The TMC supremo said her government would never allow Bengal to be divided and would maintain peace and harmony.
Elaborating on the development programmes initiated by her government, the chief minister said that her government was funding various schemes, where the Centre has stopped funding.
