MAM College bags CLUJ Cricket title

JAMMU: Government MAM College bagged the title trophy when they defeated Government Gandhi Memorial Science College in the final of the inter-college cricket tournament of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) at Hostel Ground, here today.
The MAM College made it an outright 10-wicket win. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Science College made 109 runs in the allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, MAM College chased in nine overs with all wickets intact.
Gursimran Singh Wazir and Jahanbir Singh opened the MAM innings and chased the total in style making 48 and 49 runs respectively.
In the title clash, Vice Chancellor of CLUJ, Prof. Bechan Lal was the chief guest while Dr. Ranvijay Singh, Dean Student Welfare was guest of honour. Dr. Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar, CLUJ and Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GGM Science College were among other prominent present.
The tournament was organised under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director Sports CLUJ.
Among others present were Prof. MS Saini, Prof. DS Manhas, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma, Aijaz Malik (PTI SPMR College of Commerce), Neelam Chalotra, Ramandeep Kralia (PTI GCOE Jammu).
The final officiated by the technical panel including Harsh Nayyar, Baber Tark, Salim Malik, Ashok Kumar and Farhan.
