Malaysian Islamic scholars call on CM

SRINAGAR: A delegation of Islamic Scholars from Malaysia, currently visiting Jammu and Kashmir, called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti at her residence, here.
The delegation was led by Sheikh Dr Ismail Bin Kassim, founder, Pertubuhan Rahmatan Lil’Aalmin Organisation, Malaysia.
The delegation comprised Dr Sheikh Muhammad Favzi Bin Kassim, Dr Khadijah Md Jadi, Dr Harish ManHakim, Dr Zainurah Abdul Karim, Dr Hafiza Ali and Abdul Kader Chand Pasha.
Minister of State for Haj and Auqaf, PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control, Power Development, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi was also present on the occasion.
During the interaction views were exchanged on the contemporary Islamic World and the new challenges. It was informed that the purpose of the visit of the delegation is to promote through education the values of harmony, welfare, compassion and love for human beings which are the foundation of a just society and the real values of Islam, and also to highlight the close relationship between Malaysia and India.
The delegation has already visited Jammu and Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri during their stay in Jammu and Kashmir.
The avenues for collaboration in sectors of education and tourism were also discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister wished that the delegation carries forward the true message of Islam, which is peace and called for promotion of such interactions that bring to the fore the values and virtues of Islam to help restore peace in our hearts.
The meeting ended with a prayer for peace and harmony in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
