Major crackdown on drug peddlers; 10 illegal structures demolished

JAMMU: In continuation to the ongoing drive and action against drug peddlers and land grabbers, District Administration Jammu on Saturday carried out a demolition drive at village Narwal Bala, Tehsil Bahu.

Police carrying out raids and demolishing houses at Rajeev Nagar on Saturday.

The operation was conducted on the directions of District Magistrate Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas in coordination with SSP Jammu Joginder Singh and South Jammu SP Dr Ajay Sharma.
The District Administration demolished 10 illegal structures belonging to persons involved in multiple cases under NDPS Act. “The accused persons, despite allowing sufficient time, did not mend their ways and were actively involved in illegal sale and purchase of narcotic substances” authorities said.
The District Administration has reiterated that no illegal structures or encroachment will be tolerated and strict legal action would be initiated against those involved in NDPS related offences, besides other violations.
The anti-encroachment drive was carried out under the supervision of SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa and South SP Dr Ajay Sharma by a team consisted of Tehsildar Bahu Raju Samyal; SDPO Jammu East, Sachit Sharma; SHO Bahu Fort, Susheel Choudhary and teams from the Revenue and Police departments.
The demolished houses and structures belonged to Reena, wife of Late Babbi; Pal, son of Roshan; Arun, son of Late Mohinder; Shivani, daughter of Darshan; Karan, son of Pal; Rishi, son of Pal; Vishal Kumar, son of Late Ram Singh; Reema, wife of Gogi; Rocky, son of Late Ram Singh and Sagar, son of Sesu, all residents of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu.
