JAMMU: A maid accompanying former Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, Dr Tariq Azad, succumbed to her injuries after both were hit by a vehicle while crossing the road near Jammu Railway Station on Thursday morning. Following the accident, both the injured were rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for treatment. Hospital authorities confirmed that the woman later died due to severe injuries sustained in the mishap. Dr Tariq Azad is currently undergoing treatment and has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at GMC Jammu. His condition is stated to be critical, and he remains under close medical supervision. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway.
