Madan demands Regional Council for Jammu

STATE TIMES NEWS
AKHNOOR: Veteran Congress leader and former Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma demanded Regional Council for Jammu Region on the pattern of Leh and Kargil Hill Development Councils to ensure the timely, smooth and required amount of direct funding from Centre.
Addressing election meetings at Bharda, Dasgal in favour of MLA Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma, Madan said that both himself and Sham Lal have always strongly voiced for the interests of the Jammu Region and remained controversial from outside and within the Party.
“We don’t adopt double standards and pampering policy but bluntly raise issues which affect the life of our people directly or indirectly,” he said.
Madan said that the development which Sham Lal Sharma has carried out in Akhnoor is testimony to the fact that they not only speak but also perform on ground.
People of Akhnoor should vote in favour of Sham Lal Sharma to complete the pending works, added Madan.
Madan said that Congress will be the part of any future government in the State and people should send Sham Lal Sharma in State Cabinet with thumping majority so that their interests are watched fully.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Subash Langer, Sarpanch Jagdish Raj, Kuldip Raj, ex-Sarpanch Krishan Lal, Dharam Chand and (Retd.) ZEO Puran Chand Sharma
