Luthra, Laly seek mandate on development plank

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Intensifying her door to door campaign, National Conference (NC) candidate from Jammu-East, Bimla Luthra on Saturday sought the vote of people for development, saying politics of hate and intolerance has no place where the society is craving for infrastructural development and execution of welfare programmes.
Accompanied by party leaders, Lally Khan and Rashida Begum, she also held election meetings at Gujjar Nagar and Jogi Gate localities, and said the development of Jammu-East was her priority. “The constituency deserves a better deal being commercial hub of the capital city and stands testimony to the glorious heritage of the temple city”, she maintained.
Luthra exhorted women to support her candidature for strengthening the National Conference which has championed the cause of the people irrespective of caste, creed and colour. “Vote to National Conference is support to its policies with regard to peace, development and prosperity”, she added.
Laly Khan, in his address, assailed PDP leaders especially Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for changing colours like a chameleon and exploiting public sentiment by indulging in rhetoric and falsehood. He said these machinations will not sway the politically sagacious people of the State.
Khan also castigated BJP for pursuing the politics of hate and intolerance, saying their role in creating wedge between different segments of the society has been enormous. “Lately, BJP has been indulging in worst type of political opportunism by speaking something in Srinagar and something different in Jammu”, he said adding that this has exposed the saffron squad’s agenda to grab the power.
Laly Khan sought vote for Luthra, saying this will be support to policies and programmes of National Conference.
