SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has greeted the people on the eve of Dussehra.
In a message, the Lt Governor said: “On the joyous occasion of Dussehra, I offer my warm greetings and good wishes to all. The festival of Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashmi, marks the triumph of righteousness over evil and inspires the people to lead a pious and virtuous life by following the high moral values and right conduct of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram.
May the festival usher in happiness, prosperity and well-being of all”.
Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta also extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Dussehra festival.
He said the Dussehra festival is celebrated across the country as a symbol of victory of Dharma over Adharma and triumph of the good over evil. He said that Vijaya Dasami marks the victory over vices. He highlighted that the festival teaches us to always abide by principles of truthfulness with all our energy and resources. He mentioned that it is only truth and virtues which ultimately triumphs. He made out that this festival beckons us to stick to truthfulness in life.
