New Delhi: Lok Sabha on Thursday paid tributes to seven Army personnel, who were killed in a terror attack in Nagrota near Jammu, a day after Speaker rejected the demand of opposition for an obituary reference for the same incident on the grounds that final details were yet to emerge.
As soon as the House assembled, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan referred to Tuesday’s incident and said the House strongly condemned the dastardly act of terrorists in which seven soldiers were martyred and several others were injured.
Mahajan also expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery of those injured.
The obituary reference was made a day after Opposition members walked out of Lok Sabha as their demand for an obituary reference on the soldiers who died in the same terror attack was rejected by the Speaker on the grounds that final details were yet to emerge.

NIA to probe Nagrota, Samba attacks
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is likely to probe the twin terror attacks in Nagrota and Samba in Jammu and Kashmir in which seven army personnel were killed.
“We are planning to hand over the investigations into the two terror attacks in Nagrota and Samba to NIA,” a senior Home Ministry official said.
Seven army personnel, including two Major-rank officers, were killed and eight other securitymen, including a BSF DIG, were injured in the these attacks.
Six heavily-armed terrorists were also eliminated in the two separate fierce encounters on November 29.
Officials said the terrorists were a fresh batch of infiltrated group who attacked an Army station in Nagrota and a BSF post in Samba.
NIA, which was formed in 2008, functions as the country’s central counter-terrorism law enforcement agency.
