JAMMU: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) expressed concern over certain negative provisions contained in the SRO 520 issued by the State Government on December 21 in which the employees will get a consolidated remuneration instead of providing regular time scale of pay of the post.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Abdul Majid Khan, President of the Federation, pointed out that the employees will be paid annual hike of three per cent on their consolidated remuneration on the last day of the calendar year with effect from January 1 of the following year instead of paying them usual annual increment of the grade pay. Moreover, on regularisation these workers have been made entitled to leave and medical reimbursement benefits only while the SRO is silent about giving them the dearness allowance, house rent allowance, CCA or other allied benefits given to the permanent employees, Khan said.
He said that the provisions of the SRO are against the spirit of the principal of Equal Pay for Equal Work which may cause resentment among these workers.
Khan urged upon the government to review whole gamut of regularisation process in light of the points raised above in the interest of smooth functioning and goodwill emerged after this bold decisions.
