Lower Laxmi Nagar sans basic facilities

JAMMU: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanded blacktopping of Street No 3 Lower Laxmi Nagar, Sarwal Chowk Jammu which acts as a link road between Sarwal Chowk and Subash Nagar.
AAP leader Rajesh Bali said that for the last six months people of this area are facing lot of difficulties due to the dilapidated condition of road. “The blocked drains produce lot of smell causing inconvenience to passersby especially children and old people. The problem of sanitation aggravates in the absence of urinals in the locality which the shopkeepers could use and in lack of such facility they are forced to relieve in the drains due to which the drains and roads stink at Sarwal Chowk,” he said.
Bali said they had already drawn the attention of concerned authorities and MLA Sat Sharma towards this problem but nobody has shown any concern. He also appealed to the JMC authorities to make street lights available in the aforesaid localities.
AAP members appealed to the government to look into this matter and consider their demands at the earliest.
