Love, happiness, peace, brotherhood disappearing from society: Azad

JAMMU: Wishing everyone a Happy Lohri, Democratic Azad Party (DAP) Chairman and former Chief Minister of erstwhile J&K State, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday said that the festival of Lohri is a symbol of burning our evils and imbibing virtues.
Azad, as the Chief Guest, was speaking at ‘Lohri Festival’ celebration organized at Om Shanti Meditation Center, Brahma Kumaris, here.
He also said that in the olden days when we did not have many resources then people had peace, love and brotherhood, but today all the resources are there but love, happiness, peace and brotherhood are disappearing.
But, he said, the Brahma Kumaris organization is moving ahead in the work of bringing love, peace and brotherhood all over the world.
“Dedicating your life for the welfare of the society is the true service of the society and Brahma Kumaris sisters are doing this service,” Azad said.
Rajyogini BK Sudarshan Didi (Incharge Brahmakumaris JK/Ladakh) wished all the guests a very Happy Lohri and made them feel peaceful through Raja Yoga practice.
Rajyogi BK Ravinder Bhai (Senior Brother Brahmakumaris Jammu, Zonal Coordinator Sports Wing RERF) said that the festival of Lohri gives us the message to purify the mind by burning vices (work, anger, attachment, greed, ego) and connect with God.
In this programme, Padmashree SP Verma, Er SP Verma, Jugal Kishore Sharma (former Minister), Salman Nizami and Vinod Meera were also present. Kumari Ramaya welcomed the guests with a welcome dance.
