Local entrepreneurs to be involved in power augmenting schemes: Dy CM

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minster, Dr Nirmal Singh on Tuesday said that the government has undertaken a holistic programme to upgrade and augment the existing infrastructure by way of various Central and State flagship schemes and necessary instructions have been passed to involve local manufacturers and human resource.
The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with deputation of JK Electric Manufacturers Association, which called on him here on Tuesday.
Commissioner Secretary, PDD, Dheeraj Gupta and other senior officers of the Department were also present.The deputations projected various issues pertaining to their trade. They also projected that they should also be involved in the implantation process of various schemes meant for augmenting the electric infrastructure and transmission capability.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured the deputationists that necessary instructions have already been given to involve local manufacturers in the central and state sponsored schemes. He said that by doing so the manufacturers would be benefitted as their capacity of producing the goods would increase manifold. He said that the State would be opening up new avenues for the aspiring entrepreneurs as well as the existing ones.
Later legislators, Ch Sukhnandan and Ranbir Singh Pathania also called on Deputy Chief Minster and discussed various issues pertaining to their constituencies, especially those of power.
Dr Singh assured the legislators that issues in their areas would be addressed on priority and directed the Commissioner Secretary, PDD to ensure their time-bound redressal.

Inquiry ordered into PDD employees deaths

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh on Tuesday ordered an inquiry into the incident which occurred the other day at Siri Pandtan in which three PDD employees were electrocuted, resulting in death of two.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that action would be initiated against the concerned officials who were responsible for the incident. He further assured that adequate compensation would be provided to the next of kin of the deceased employees. Dr Singh while expressing grief over the incident said that necessary instructions have already been passed to the concerned officials to ensure that such incidents don’t occur in future. He expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also directed the officers to ensure that the injured in the incident gets requisite medical assistance.
